Webinar Recap: Recruiting & Retaining Clients Using Social Media
Leverage Global Partners and social media expert Katie Lance recently teamed up for the August event of our monthly webinar series. In this installment, Recruiting & Retaining Clients Using Social Media, Katie discussed how real estate agents can utilize social media to connect with both previous and prospective clients.
Key Takeaways from "Recruiting & Retaining Clients Using Social Media":
– Social media doesn't replace what is already working – e.g phone calls, meeting face-to-face or for a coffee, or a handwritten note, but all of these can be enhanced to be better experiences through social media.
– Social media is a window into someone's life – people are sharing more on their social channels than ever before.
– Real estate is a personal business! People work with you because of your professionalism & expertise, but they connect with you because of who you are personally.
– Create two Facebook lists to help organize your connections: 1. Your Agents (or Your Clients) 2. Your Potential Agents (or Potential Clients)
– Use these lists to engage on Facebook once a day, for at least 5 minutes a day.
– Recruiting is all about building relationships, and you build relationships over the course of time. Don’t expect immediate results from social media; they develop over time.
– Stand out from the crowd: Utilize Facebook Voice Messages in FB Messenger to send personal messages.
– Bridge the digital gap between emails, meetings, and social media by using apps like: 1. LinkedIn Contacts 2. Rapportive (Gmail – gives a preview of the social media profiles of the person you are emailing) 3. Refresh (syncs with calendar) 4. Tempo (will show you the last 3 or 4 emails you've had with an individual)
– For client prospecting, use Facebook Graph Search to find connections with people who work for different companies — can search friends of friends.
– Graph Search will give you access to the network connected to your network. People are using this to gain introductions from their Facebook friends and contacts.
– LinkedIn is another great tool for prospecting. Keep in mind that LinkedIn profiles are typically the first thing that show up on a Google search, so keep yours up-to-date.
– Another great tip for client retention via social media: make people feel special by thanking them publicly and reaching out about things that are important to them
