Meet John Beauchamp: President, Intercoastal Realty
"My mother, Beth Beauchamp, the founder of Intercoastal Realty, went from housewife to the most successful realtor in Fort Lauderdale," explains John Beauchamp, President of the company. The family atmosphere she created, with its emphasis on providing the highest level of personal service, is still how the office is run today, with an open floor plan and constant interaction amongst the agents. John and Beth, along with his sister-in-law, Torie, make up the Beauchamp Team and are at the helm of the office of 50 real estate professionals, seven days a week.
The beautiful climate — especially in the winter — along with incredible waterfront property and zero-percent state and local income tax make Fort Lauderdale a huge draw for home buyers. "We are seeing a lot of dual footprints," says John, with people leaving high-tax states and establishing their tax basis in Florida. John and the real estate professionals at Intercoastal Realty are proud to be waterfront experts in the area but work with clients to serve all their real estate needs.
HOW IS ON-LINE MARKETING AND SOCIAL MEDIA PLAYING A ROLE IN YOUR COMPANY?
John: We are in the middle of revamping our corporate website. We are changing from one of the first real estate websites – a Model T, functional but without the new bells and whistles – to a state-of-the-art site that will take advantage of all of the current market trends and tools, and build in social marketing opportunities.
I am personally not on Facebook or Twitter, but we do encourage our associates to promote themselves and build their business through social media and networking. Every year we produce a high-gloss, oversized coffee table book of our properties which is distributed throughout South Florida. The online digital edition goes everywhere. It is also linked to our real estate professionals' emails and to all of our online marketing and through QR codes in our print marketing.
Digital pictures and words get you interested; however, a computer can't take you around and show you the true feel of a waterfront home and the subtle differences of our waterfront neighborhoods. It is our people, with their experience and knowledge that make Intercoastal Realty successful!
HOW DO YOUR COLLEAGUES AT INTERCOASTAL REALTY DESCRIBE YOU AS A PARTNER?
John: Available and responsive. When not at my desk I am always available by phone to provide answers, advice or encouragement. As a manager that also sells real estate I go through the same marketing and sales process as our associates. I emphasize the importance of our professionalism, market knowledge and experience that differentiates our people from other agents in our markets.
WHAT DO YOU ENJOY DOING OUTSIDE OF YOUR REAL ESTATE LIFE?
John: I love to travel. My wife and I are Francophiles and we love to rent an apartment in Paris once a year. I have my iPad and computer with me so that I can stay in touch with business.
In his leadership role at Intercoastal Realty, John Beauchamp runs the weekly office meetings, encouraging interaction, input and points of view from his agents. They discuss changes in the business, give advice to each other on pricing and marketing, learn from guest speakers from the banking, insurance and other real estate related industries, and promote the team concept to give their clients the absolute best representation.
